The prerequisite for an effective absence management is an early-on and systematic
detection and analysis of absences. According to statistics every 20th employee is required to
do the work of his or her sick or injured colleague. Many sick-leaves are increasing due to lack of
movement, unhealthy nutrition, stress, private problems etc. This leads to increasing insurance
premiums, wage continuation without return service, loss of productivity etc. Absences are related
